August - Enjoy Mouthwatering Watermelon and Prepare Your Fall Garden
August continues to be a hot one in Arkansas! We are deep in the summer produce season in Arkansas. While you would expect this season to be the most abundant one of the year, the recent hot temperatures and lack of significant rainfall has made it harder than ever on our produce and livestock farmers. The weather, coupled with the increased costs for everything from seeds to animal feed, fertilizer, and packing materials; this season has been difficult for everyone.
Nevertheless, we celebrate each crate of tomatoes, pack of sausage, and dozen of eggs that are brought over by our Farmers and made available to our customers. Thank you for continuing to support local food!
July - Snack on Tomatoes and Plant Pumpkin Seeds
July is a scorcher in Arkansas, but we get to enjoy some delicious fruits and vegetables this month! The Farmstand will soon fill to the brim with lots of summer produce, taking over our center display, fridges, freezers, and even spilling over to our porch display tables.
If you have been dreaming of preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinners with all locally grown and locally made items, now is the time!
It is also the time to plant a few more warm-loving plants if you want to enjoy a later summer or early fall harvest.
