Farm School Administrator Job Description

Position Title: Farm School Administrator

Job Summary:

The Farm School Administrator will oversee the daily operations of a nature-based school, working collaboratively with teachers, staff, and parents to provide students with an engaging and supportive learning environment. The Administrator will also manage the school's facilities, develop and implement policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with any regulations.


-General bookkeeping (payroll, invoicing parents, paying bills).

-Ordering supplies for the school and/or lesson plans as needed.

-Keeping track of lesson plans, monthly calendars, keeping parents informed.

-Helping teachers with assessments as needed, reviewing curriculum.

-Informing landlord/grounds manager of any maintenance issues with facility or grounds.

-Keeping facility safe and clean.

-Responding to emails, calls and questions from parents as needed.

-Being a liaison between parents, students and teachers.

-Helping plan and coordinate field trips or events as needed.

-Taking attendance every morning, being on site for drop-off.

-Management of student and teacher records and files.

-Developing a handbook for the school policies, task lists for daily activities, cleaning lists, etc.

- Supervise and support teachers and staff in implementing the school's mission and vision, with a focus on nature-based and outdoor learning.

- Monitor student progress and collaborate with teachers to provide appropriate support and interventions, with an emphasis on hands-on, experiential learning

- Managing website and social media presence.

- Serve as substitute for Lead Facilitator and Nature Play Facilitator as needed.


- Administrative experience and/or business experience preferred.

- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

- Ability to lead and motivate a team of teachers, parents and students.

- Experience with bookkeeping (quickbooks), and/or payroll processing is a plus, but not required.

Job Type:

Part-time position 10 to 20 +/- hours per week, with room for additional hours if needed. Candidates must be on-site at the school daily but working from home is acceptable for certain tasks.


Hourly, in the range of $15/hour with room for improvement based on school performance.
